Michael Lacey’s Policy Priorities for Wyoming County

Driving a vision rooted in integrity and local advocacy, Michael Lacey is committed to transparent leadership. His priorities focus on practical results that strengthen the fabric of Wyoming County for every resident.

Key Issue Positions

Property Tax Coalition

Michael Lacey is dedicated to building a coalition of counties to engage Pennsylvania lawmakers in formal discussions regarding the collection, distribution, and use of property tax revenue generated by gambling.

Transparancy

Michael Lacey is committed to open, honest, and accountable government that keeps residents informed and involved in the decisions that affect their community. By promoting transparency and fiscal responsibility, he will work to build trust and ensure county government remains responsive to the people it serves.

Strong Schools, Strong Community

The health of our community is directly connected to the strength of our public schools. Quality schools help develop future leaders, support economic growth, attract families and businesses, and create opportunities for every child to succeed. I believe county government should work closely with our school districts to support students, strengthen families, and build a brighter future for Wyoming County. When our schools succeed, our entire community succeeds.

Actionable Solutions

Concrete Plans

Property Tax Coalition Initiative

Property taxes continue to place a significant financial burden on homeowners, farmers, and small businesses throughout our communities. Pennsylvania's gambling industry was originally promoted as a way to provide meaningful property tax relief, yet many residents continue to question whether those revenues are being distributed fairly and effectively. As county leaders, we must ensure that local taxpayers have a strong voice in these important conversations.

I will work to build a coalition of counties that share similar concerns and priorities regarding property taxes and gambling-generated revenue. By joining together, we can present a unified voice to Pennsylvania lawmakers and advocate for greater transparency, accountability, and fairness in how these funds are collected, allocated, and distributed. A regional coalition will strengthen our ability to engage state officials in meaningful discussions and pursue solutions that better serve local communities.

Transparency is essential to building trust between elected officials and the people they serve. As a public servant, I believe residents deserve open, honest, and timely communication about the decisions being made on their behalf and how taxpayer dollars are being spent. Government works best when citizens are informed, engaged, and confident that their voices are being heard.

I am committed to maintaining an open-door approach to leadership by providing clear information about county operations, budgets, expenditures, and major initiatives. This includes making public meetings more accessible, improving communication with residents, and ensuring that important information is readily available to the public. Taxpayers have a right to know how decisions are made and how those decisions impact their communities.

Transparency also means accountability. I will work to ensure that county government operates with integrity, fiscal responsibility, and respect for the public trust. By encouraging open dialogue, listening to community concerns, and being responsive to questions and feedback, we can foster a stronger partnership between government and the citizens it serves.

My goal is to create a culture of openness where residents feel informed, valued, and confident that their local government is working in their best interests. Together, we can build a county government that is transparent, accountable, and focused on serving the people.

Transparency In Office

Strong Schools,
Strong Community

A well-functioning public school system is one of the most important investments a community can make. Strong schools do more than educate our children; they help create safer neighborhoods, attract families and businesses, support local economic growth, and prepare the next generation of community leaders. The success of our schools directly impacts the overall health and future of our county.

County government and public schools should work hand in hand to address the needs of students, families, and the community as a whole. By fostering partnerships between educators, local officials, businesses, healthcare providers, and community organizations, we can create opportunities that support academic success, workforce development, public health, and community engagement.

I am committed to promoting open communication and collaboration between county government and our school districts to ensure that students have the resources they need to succeed. When our schools thrive, our families thrive, our workforce grows stronger, and our entire community benefits. Investing in education is not just an investment in our children, it is an investment in the future of Wyoming County.
